AN HOMAGE TO MY ROOTS & A LOVE LETTER TO MOTHER EARTH

Born in the Philippines, I'm an island baby at heart. I was raised in Southern California, and also lived in Paris and London. Though I've mostly been a city dweller, I'm at my happiest in exotic coastal settings. I left the Philippines at age five and only had the chance to travel back to my native country in my early twenties. But once I arrived, my soul truly felt at home. It was when I visited my family's coconut farm for the first time, in the wild seaside jungles on the island of Mindanao, that i fell in love with the simpler and slower way of life. As I watched the locals honour, respect, and rely on their natural environment to sustain their livelihoods, I was fascinated with their mindfulness and knowledge of the land. After that trip, I promised myself that I'd return to the Philippines one day and plant roots there. 

MULA SA LUPA WAS CONCEIVED

from a desire to reconnect with my humble tropical origins while celebrating the 'fruits' of the Earth, Everything we truly need in this world, Mother Nature provides. I believe caring for the environment starts with self-care, and caring about what we put in/on our bodies. Lifestyle and product choices not only impact the health of our planet but also the health of our skin. Having struggled with skin issues growing up, from acne to eczema. I was left with some scarring and hyperpigmentation and used many products that were either too harsh or did not have any lasting effects. So I created MULA SA LUPA to develop natural and gentle solutions to renew my skin.

IN MY QUEST FOR NATURAL SKINCARE

I discovered the benefits of botanical extracts and seed oils derived from tropical fruits, such as papaya, mango, banana, pineapple, guava, and coconut. These fruits contain rich antioxidant properties that can naturally and effectively improve your complexion. That’s why superfruit extracts and oils are the hero ingredients in our formulations. To ensure that our products are safe and suitable for all skin types, I hand blend and test my own formulas using plant-based ingredients that have been scientifically proven to nourish your skin. These botanical blends have helped me feel confident again in my own skin, and I'm excited to share the power of these superfruits with you in your clean beauty journey.
